This search came as Israel claimed it had exchanged attacks with Hamas in the Rafah area, a development that has cast a shadow over the recently established ceasefire.
The Israeli government's response to the perceived threat was swift and decisive. They alleged that Hamas militants had launched an attack against Israeli troops in southern Gaza, leading to a sudden surge in violence. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that 'terrorists' had engaged Israeli forces in the Rafah area, using gunfire and an anti-tank missile.
