In skateboarding and snowboarding, the ollie is a jump performed without the aid of a take-off ramp. It is performed by pressing the foot on the tail of the board to bounce the deck off the ground.

Ouchi lost most of his sight to retinitis pigmentosa just a few years after he started skateboarding. But the loss of vision hasn’t stopped him from trying acrobatic things at skateboard parks.

“I can’t change the fact that I have a disease, so I thought I’m going to have to live with it,” he added.
Ouchi practiced ollies with his friends after his eyesight deteriorated. He finally managed to break the world record even with a strained back.
“I was already out of breath less than 30 seconds later. I couldn’t help but laugh because I wasn’t even halfway there. I didn’t know how many times I succeeded, but all I know is my legs are so stiff right now,” Ouchi said.
