Mary Frances Boyd, of Braintree formerly of Quincy, entered eternal life on June 25, 2022. Daughter of Harry T. and Elizabeth C. Boyd, Mary was born in Quincy, graduated from Quincy High School and spent 42 years in work at Pneumatic Ladder Company. Mary was a Eucharistic Minister at Saint-Joseph de Quincy Church. On her retirement in 1993, Mary moved to Braintree and was an active member of St. Francis of Assisi parish. She was a reader, Eucharistic minister and member of the bereavement committee for many years. She attended daily mass on foot every morning. Family came first in Mary’s life. His life has always been one of service. She volunteered at Carney Hospital in Dorchester, Paideia League in Boston, worked in the polls on Election Day and, along with her brother Bill, helped deliver Meals on Wheels. Mary loved bowling, tennis, line dancing and ballroom dancing. She has traveled throughout the United States and Europe and enjoyed skiing in New Hampshire’s White Mountains. Mary is the devoted sister of the late William H. Boyd, the late John A. Boyd and the late Gertrude E. (Boyd) Shanahan. She will be deeply missed by her nephews George B. Shanahan, Jr. and his late wife Barbara, Mark S. Shanahan and his wife Margaret, Kevin P. Shanahan and his wife Dianne and his niece Elizabeth B. Kelly and her husband Joseph Kelly, and several great-nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be Saturday, July 2, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street, Braintree. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Assisi Church, South Braintree Square. Interment will follow the funeral mass at Old North Cemetery in North Weymouth.
